"EMBORA" E "MAS" - "ALTHOUGH" AND "BUT"

"Embora" e "mas" - "although" and "but"

Não podemos usar "although" (=embora) e "but" (=mas) numa mesma frase. Não podemos dizer:

→ Although he tried to stop, but he collided with the car. (=embora tenha tentado parar, mas ele colidiu com o carro)

Nós dizemos:

→ Although he tried to stop the car, he collided with the car. (=embora tenha tentado parar o carro, ele colidiu com o carro)

ou

→ He tried to stop the car, but he collided with the car. (=ele tentou parar o carro, mas colidiu com o carro)
